Wigs were always worn by each characters. The different styles of wigs signified their social status, age, occupation, and emotion. Just like with makeup the wigs help the audience get a better perspective on the personality and position of each character. Not only does the wig portray information about the character but the costume does as well. Depending on how you dress you could gather the information on their emotions, if there wealthy, or how old they are.
