Music
The music played in Kabuki was considerably elaborated. There was a great number of exotic instrument such as the:
~ Kettledrum
~Flute
~Samisen
~Hand-drum
~Gong, bells, and various percussion instruments
There was always an orchestra on stage whenever there was a musical performance. The actors never sang their lines but acted them out as the music was playing. In the first half of the 19th century was the "golden age" of Kabuki music. There were even schools that taught you a lot about the art of music and dance such as the:
